Bahia (pronúncia
em português: [baˈi.ɐ])
é uma das 27 unidades federativas do Brasil. É o estado com o sexto maior PIB do
país. Está situada a sul da Região Nordeste e
é o maior estado da região, fazendo limites com oito outros estados
brasileiros, sendo eles: Minas Gerais a
sul, sudoeste e sudeste, Goiás a
oeste e sudoeste, Tocantins a
oeste e noroeste,Piauí a
norte e noroeste, Pernambuco a
norte, Alagoas a
nordeste, Sergipe a
nordeste e Espírito Santo a
sudeste. A leste, é banhada pelo Oceano Atlântico e
tem, com novecentos km, a mais extensa costa de todos os estados do Brasil
com acesso ao Oceano Atlântico. Ocupa uma área de 567 295,669 km², sendo
pouco maior que a França.
Dentre os estados nordestinos, a Bahia representa a maior extensão territorial,
a maior população, o maior produto interno bruto,
além de ser o estado que mais recebe turistas na região.
Bahia (Portuguese pronunciation: [bai.ɐ]) is one of the 27 federal
units of Brazil. It is the state with the sixth largest GDP. It is located
south of the Northeast and is the largest state in the region, making
boundaries with eight other states, namely: Minas Gerais south, southwest and
southeast, west and southwest Goiás, Tocantins to the west and northwest, north
Piauí and west, Pernambuco to the north, northeast Alagoas, Sergipe and
Espirito Santo northeast to the southeast. To the east, it is bordered by the
Atlantic Ocean and has, with nine hundred kilometers, the longest coastline of
all states of Brazil with access to the Atlantic Ocean. It occupies an area of
567 295.669 km ², being slightly larger than France. Among the northeastern
states, Bahia is the largest jurisdiction, the largest population, the largest

Salvador (founded as São Salvador da Bahia de Todos

cerca de 68,7% encontram-se na região do semi-árido, sendo o maior litoral do Brasil, medindo 1.183 km, abrigando uma grande variedade de ecossistemas e favorecendo a atividade turística por sua rara
beleza.
